Description of Transit Program
Currently the Hobbs Express provides two types of service, general public demand response transportation service; and fixed route service. All Hobbs Express vehicles are ADA accessible including wheelchair lifts and tie-downs. This vital program for the citizens of Hobbs is provided six days per week within the five mile addressing area for the City of Hobbs.
The general public demand response, curb-to-curb transportation service and the fixed routes are available to all members of the Hobbs community on a first-come, first-served basis to employment, medical care, shopping, and education and recreation facilities. Passengers are encouraged to make reservations the day before up to 14 days in advance to secure the time they require. No same day service is available.
The Hobbs Express serves any location within the city limits of Hobbs and within the five mile addressing area. Included in this service area are the Lea County Airport, New Mexico Junior College, Covenant Hobbs Hospital, University of the Southwest, and the Texas/New Mexico State Line.
Hobbs Express observes all state holidays.

Veterans Ride Free!
Veterans ride free on all Hobbs Express bus routes as well as the demand response-paratransit bus service. Upon boarding any of the fare-based routes, Veterans must present a Veterans ID photo badge or valid New Mexico driver's license with a Veteran's designation, and their fare will be waived.
Veterans have made a great sacrifice to all of us and we want to thank them for their service to our country and to the people of the United States. Hobbs Express is proud to offer this benefit to our Veterans.
Hobbs Express provides fixed-route bus service on four routes that run daily each hour throughout the community at designated bus stops. Riders can transfer to another route at various bus stop locations. Route service is available Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Through the demand response program, riders may schedule a pickup from any specific location within city limits and receive curb-to-curb transportation service. Demand response service is available Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All demand response rides must be scheduled at least one day in advance.

Accessibility
Hobbs Express is accessible to persons with disabilities. Buses and vans are equipped with wheelchair lifts that enable persons in wheelchairs or persons who cannot navigate steps to ride the bus. Buses have priority seating for persons with disabilities. Operators are trained to assist riders use lifts and secure wheelchairs. You may travel with your respirator, concentrator, and portable oxygen. Service animals are welcome onboard buses and vans and in our facilities. (They must be kept under the control of the passenger at all times.) Public information is available in alternative accessible formats upon request. Please call Hobbs Express at (575) 397-9290.
Wheelchair Securement Required
All wheelchairs must be secured to be transported.
Reasonable Modification Policy
Passengers with disabilities may request modifications to current service procedures to access the service. To make a request, please contact us at (575) 397-9290 or hobbsexpress@hobbsnm.org. Please submit requests at least the day before the trip. Hobbs Express will not charge additional fees for passengers requiring reasonable modifications.
Transportation to the Hobbs Airport
Demand response reservation rides/ADA complementary paratransit services for individuals with disabilities is available to the Hobbs Airport through Hobbs Express during regular days and hours of operation, Monday through Saturday, 7 am - 4 pm, by calling (575) 397-9290. All rides must be scheduled one day in advance. For other transportation service, you may wish to contact 777 Taxi, at (575) 318-5133 for airport rides.
